The University of South Australia and the Australian Institute of Male Health and Studies (AIMHS) are proposing to establish a Graduate Diploma in Male Studies to be offered in Australia and internationally in 2014. This program will be the first of its kind to be offered anywhere in the world.

The Graduate Diploma in Male Studies will pursue a new understanding of health, human psychology and social relations for contemporary males, using bases of evidence, reason, and interdisciplinary enquiry suited to the proper preparation of graduates for health and human service professions.

The key themes of the proposed study program will engage with the context and factors that influence health and wellbeing outcomes for males, and will bring analysis to the many common and culturally embedded assumptions that negatively influence male experience and wellbeing – and consequently family and community health and wellbeing.
