“Better prepared, more engaged fathers” are a priority for action under the NSW Health Men’s Health Action Plan 2009-2012.

NSW Health, in partnership with the Men’s Health Information and Resource Centre at the University of Western Sydney and Relationships Australia, has organised this innovative “how-to” forum and encourages staff of family and children’s services to attend.

This exciting and interactive forum will showcase some of the best ideas on working with dads. It is a great opportunity to learn about and share what works!

Our very special guest speakers are world-renowned experts in fatherhood research and include Ms Adrienne Burgess Head Of Research Fatherhood Institute, UK and Dr Richard Fletcher, Fathers and Families Research Program, University of Newcastle.

Adrienne has written widely on fatherhood and couple relationships. A founder of the Fatherhood Institute, her thorough understanding of research and practice enables her to share strategies for better engagement with fathers.

Richard’s extensive knowledge of family health, communication and father involvement means he will be well-placed to share his expertise with health care delegates.

Wednesday 14th September 2011, Mary MacKillop Place North Sydney.

Registration is free and lunch is included!

Who should attend: maternity services, child & family health services, health & community services professionals in government & non-government services working with children and families.
