EFFECTIVE MEN’S HEALTH PROMOTION is a new improved version of Australia’s leading men’s health promotion training program. EMHP is for men and women who work in organisations and companies that provide health, welfare, wellbeing or community services for men and boys. EMHP presents strategies and a model for working more effectively with men and  takes participants through the process of designing, implementing and evaluating men’s health promotion programs, services and resources. There is time during the day to work on a  program, service or resource of your design which can be implemented in your local community or workplace.

You will also learn through input and interactive groupwork:How to use a health promotion model to more effectively engage with men

  • How to design, implement and evaluate a men’s health program | project or resource                 
  • How to conduct useful community consultations with men in your area
  • How to raise funds and gain sponsorship for your work with men
  • How to market your men’s health project  or event including the use of social media
  • Event management skills to create successful men’s health events
  • How to choose, develop and maintain partnerships in men’s health work

This training program will also provide you with an opportunity to network and build collaborative partnerships to improve the delivery of men friendly services in your area. The program is provided in a strengths based model that addresses the social determinants of health.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

 Greg Millan is a social work trained health promotion worker with over 21 years experience in working with men and developing and implementing many workshop programs, resources and community events covering a wide range of male health and wellbeing issues. Having worked for Government, Non-government organisations and the private sector, Greg is currently the President of the Men’s Health Forum of NSW and an Executive Member of the Australasian Men’s Health Forum Inc., Australia’s peak body implementing a social approach to male health. He is also a Member of the Board of Advisors of the Men’s Health Network USA and produces emale Australia’s largest circulation free national monthly men’s health and wellbeing ebulletin and is the author of Men’s health & wellbeing: an a–z guide”.
