The Lace Curtain is alive and well at the SMH

As predicted, despite yesterday’s media release from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing that men fare worse than women in education, health and crime, the Sydney Morning Herald has somehow twisted the data around to claim that “Statistics confirm it’s still a man’s world“! Ridden with factual errors and misinformation, this piece is typical of media coverage of the issue of gender equity. Sadly, it seems the Lace Curtain (see Warren Farrell’s The Myth of Male Power) is still alive and well.
